Embassies in the Grand Duchy of Mansveld

To all Heads of State, considering to establish an embassy in the Grand Duchy of Mansveld, we salute you.

In order to streamline the process of establishing an embassy in the Grand Duchy of Mansveld, we hereby declare the following regulations:

1) Embassies can not be established by countries with which the Grand Duchy is in war.
1a) In the event an embassy has already been established, it will be closed as soon as war is declared.

2) Embassadors must within 1 (one) week after their installation as embassador present their letter of credence (signed and sealed by the Head of State of their country) to The Grand Duke of Mansveld, or his appointed substitute.
2a) Failure to do so shall be considered an act of disdain, and shall influence the relationship between the Grand Duchy and the ambassadors country.

3) Security of embassies is carried out jointly by Mansveld troops, and the embassies security personnel. However, in no case can the Grand Duchy of Mansveld be held responsible for the security.
3a) The embassy's security personnel is only allowed to wear weaponry that has been approved by the Grand Duchy's Security Board, and should only be used if the safety of personnel can not be secured through other means. This means: weaponry worn by security personnel can only be used as a last resort.

4) Embassy personnel is granted diplomatic immunity.

5) All embassies will be appointed a building in or near the center of Mansveld City

6) The Grand Duke of Mansveld may decide to overrule any of these previous rules where he sees fit, and will always have a final say in this matter.



All countries wishing to establish an embassy abiding these rules are requested to contact the General-Secretary of Foreign Affairs by posting underneath this message.

OOC: exactly what do you mean by presenting the letter? Like a little RP moment?

OOC: just like IRL, it's more a formality. In appointing Lady Anna-Maria of Derring, I hope to send a very capable diplomat who has been of the greatest use and distinguishment during the formation of South Vold. She is knowledgeable of the status of both Laeria and Vold and South Vold and is thus more thant adequate for the position of ambassador, aided also by my full trust and confidence in her. As South Vold is a independent, yet forign diplomacy reliant state in a personal union with us, I have seen it fit to appoint a special advisor in all things South Vold related to Lady Anna-Maria and am entrusting this position to the most capable hands of Salim Massat.
